The grass is not always greener on the other side, but where you water it

Standard

People globally have this perception that life is better somewhere else, when compared to their own countries; the reason for this is that people are biased and more often than not narrowminded, not to mention the fact that they fall for “tourist propaganda”. As a result, they tend to build up this idealized version of whatever country they think is nice because they saw an advertisement or similar, or they judge that same country or region or territory purely based on the benefits it has alone, allthewhile ignoring the negativity or simply remaining oblivious or ignorant towards it. One should also not forget that these people generally speaking, are not exactly “top tier” people in their own country, only adding to the misconception further. These individuals do not acknowledge their own shortcomings that create reality the way they experience it in their own countries & consequentially they think life is better somewhere else, which might be the case but purely personally rather than factually and therefore not applicable to the average individual.

Notable example’s an escort or similar; how often have you seen someone like that speak well of their own nation? Do you really think that someone like that/with that kind of baggage will give you factual information? Of course not; the person allows their own personal hardships to influence their opinion or take on their own country, even if their country is statistically a top 10 country regarding global statistics for quality of life and indicators of excellence.

So what can you take away from this? What can be learned from all of this? To be unbiased and impartial; focus on facts, not on your own personal feelings, especially negative ones. Realistically evaluate your own life, look at yourself in the mirror, honestly, through the eyes of someone else and compare your life to your country and ask yourself “am I the problem, is the negativity in my life purely just that – my life?”. Change your own life for the better, and you’ll notice that your own country isn’t all bad (And even if it is, it’s still nice to be top dog amongst the minnows- obviously much, much better than just staying as you are).

“a cripple is a cripple across the world” – changing physical locations will not undo that.
