I shall be covering the archangel Uriel in this piece; He is a jack of all trades, similar to Michael in that aspect or regard. When reading about Uriel extensively, it comes to no surprise that he aligns with Mars (Aries, 3°- rashness), and this of course doesn’t mean that He’s martian, but that He’s linked to the element fire- Him being labeled a Cherub and the “Angel of Sun” only further supports that.
Regarding His skillset, He covers multiple subjects; money, art forms & science are notable ones. But his specialty is dominion over- and knowledge of the cosmos, per example Astrology. He can make one excel like no other and give knowledge that is rare to say the least. Appearance is that of a huge, tall Angel dressed in primarily yellow with other colors mixed. This reminds me of the LBRP, where He is called upon as Angel of the earth, which He also has dominion of, but in a different way than Sandalphon.
I’ll be covering the Archangel Metatron today; He is the ruler of the kabbalistic sphere Kether, representing cosmic wisdom and power through which God manifests into the rest of our world. Interesting to note that His face also appears on the first pentacle of the Sun, and known as the “face of God”; see the featured image.
From an occult point of view, I can see why Metatron has the highest position in the kabbalah; He corresponds to Scorpio (20°- unconventional) and is not Martian obviously, but it refers to His way of working, which is intense; Metatron is such a versatile one; can provide money, clairvoyance & understanding of the universe/ cosmos, prominence + the ability to be a good spokesman, thereby gaining support from parties, mastery of practically any artform (e.g. science, metaphysics) & information on past lives. All of the aforementioned are what He offers as a strong suit and as I mentioned before, He’s quite the multi-tasker.
Appearance is that of a transparent old man with beard, but in all honesty it can safely be stated that He has none, and He told me this too; I saw Him change forms intermittently and the above-mentioned form is a projection of my own subconscious as how to see Him.
I’ll be covering the olympic spirit Och from the magickal workbook called the Arbatel today; For those of you that don’t know the arbatel, follow the link on it’s name and/ or see a copy here.
As His description states therein, “Och governeth solar things; he giveth 600 years, with perfect health; he bestoweth great wisdom, giveth the most excellent Spirits, teacheth perfect Medicines: he converteth all things into most pure gold and precious stones: he giveth gold, and a purse springing with gold. He that is dignified with his Character, he maketh him to be worshipped as a Deity, by the Kings of the whole world“.
Well, He may be solar within the guidelines of the Arbatel, but not in general; for Och is a lunar spirit (Cancer, 26°- agriculture) and his attributes skillswise are correct. So health, wealth, medicine, herbs are His forté . He works in such an abstract and coercive manner as to cause strife in one’s life or destabilize it, but adversely sees to a one-track household. So the opposite for that. Keep that in mind. So He’ll throw certain aspects of life in disarray.
Funny thing is that I never liked the arbatel and remember people asking me whether I’ve worked with the spirits from it too; the whole reason for this piece is the fact that Och asked me to, appeared out of nowhere today as a medieval nobleman wearing yellow on top of a horse, and sometimes an ass. Lastly, Och says that He doesn’t mind that people use Solar correspondences, as long as they work with Him. He definitely doesn’t lack strength.
I’ll be talking about the egyptian goddess Maat today, the goddess that stood for positive aspects of mundane and daily life; so order, balance, fairness, honesty and so on. Basically “proper etiquette”.
Maat appears as Isis, a winged goddess that looks a lot like her, but of course not exactly like Her. To be honest, appearance-wise I prefer Isis, but that’s okay. Nothing else can be said about physical features. Interestingly, my dog’s name is Naat and I tease her sometimes about her being a canine goddess (lol) and because they sound so familiar, Maat appeared at a later stadium which I knew was going to happen. She’s Mercurial (27° in Gemini- artist) and a powerful at that; She’s good for all things that deal with daily life, along with domestic life and related matters. Practical applications are money, family life, communication, short distance travel and so on. Law & justice are also on the table, but not her strong suit. Still good for that, though.
Interesting (not too much) stories about Her are here; also prayers etc. here.
PS I share these since I have no real experience in working with Her.
The greek god apollo was worshipped by the greek people as god of the Sun; I shall be writing about Him.
Apollo is Mercurial, NOT Solar (Virgo, 3°- productive) and a strong one at that. He is good for financial prosperity, health (physical) and getting work done in general. If one wishes to reach his ambitions, Apollo is a pagan god with whom that can be achieved (of course He’s not the only one). Appearance is a man with red hair, wearing only pants or undergarments (so bare-chested), with bow and arrows. Little else to be said.
Read here for information on Him; needless to say, as is the case in general, He can also do the opposite regarding his attributes (disease & poverty).
I’ll be covering the archangel Gabriel this time; He is one of the seven that stands before God and rules the Moon.
Gabriel is of course Lunar (9°- maternal) and therefore very friendly, loving and caring. He specializes generally in lunar matters, e.g. food, real estate, clairvoyance and so on. One of his strong suits is financial matters, so acquiring money. That includes finding missing treasure etc. Regarding appearance, Gabriel has a crown made of leaves and is a huge man, wearing blue robe with blue eyes and reminds me of Zadkiel & Raziel. But that’s normal, since all three have water-based attributes (Jupiter, Neptune & Moon strong in Pisces).
He is one of the most well known angels, but I never needed to work with Him so I cannot share more.
I finish up with the last of the three main Gods within the Norse pantheon; last, but definitely not least is Odin. He is, based on the information I read up on Him a jack of all trades and covers multiple topics and areas of life; money, wisdom, you name it. Nothing else can be said, see the Wiki page link for more information on Him.
Time for occult focus & information on Him; Odin is solar (15° in Leo- Seeker) and this surprised me a bit, since I read that Wednesday is loosely based on Him too. He has a lot of names or goes by a lot of names, and Woden or something similar is one of them. Thus Wodensdag (Woensdag in Dutch) turned to Wednesday. Based on that, you’d think that He’d be Mercurial but nope. He appeared as an old man in armor for me, with one eye. I lastly need to point out that the seeker aspect of His correspondence refers to Odin constantly seeking attainment of knowledge & wisdom.
I’ll be doing Thoth here, the egyptian God of writing, communication etc. He was one of their major Gods and very important.
Thoth is Mercurial (duh) and corresponds to 28° in Gemini, which stands for confidence. This means that engagement with him depends on you, as an operator; lose confidence in yourself and He’ll tone it down a bit too. He can help you with all things regarding communication, e.g. writing, math etc. All things attributed to Him:
“The Egyptians credited him as the author of all works of science, religion, philosophy, and magic. The Greeks further declared him the inventor of astronomy, astrology, the science of numbers, mathematics, geometry, land surveying, medicine, botany, theology, civilized government, the alphabet, reading, writing, and oratory. They further claimed he was the true author of every work of every branch of knowledge, human and divine“.
When Thoth showed himself just now, He told me that He does not like to be disturbed by others, unless they’re really serious in working with Him. Appearance is typical too, half man- half Ibis, or half man- half baboon. The latter is second though.
I will be covering the egyptian deity Sobek, aka the crocodile God and ruler of the Nile etc. I have no experience in working with Sobek, but have looked into Him in the past and have heard from Him via the media, and in unusual ways, either for better or worse.
Sobek is unsurprisingly Lunar (Cancer, 9°- maternal) and can be thusly be very loving, caring and compassionate, negating His more negative behavioural aspects. He is one that holds back until He sees that this isn’t necessary anymore, and then will go full throttle. I have no real advice for people that want to work with Sobek, general rules apply here.
An interesting video on Him here, detailing His nature:
Another one, albeit negative experience coming into contact with Sobek of someone that is haunted by Him and almost possessed here.
I will be covering the Goetic spirit Caïm or Camio here; He is said to appear as a thrush or a man dressed in a thrush-like suit; as the description says, He can teach one to talk to animals etc.
It was when I was thinking about Him, that He appeared to me while in a food cafe telling me that He can teach me how to talk to animals; the prospect of doing so seems “cool” and invaluable, but personally impractical for me. So no dice. This is more for recordkeeping purposes; Caïm is Lunar (4° in Cancer- stands for restriction) & working with Him will not be easy, as success will not happen in a smooth manner. His seal is next to the description in the Goetia. Besides, He isn’t the only one that can do this, as Barbatos (another Lunar, why doesn’t that surprise me since most Lunar spirits in the Goetia deal with languages) is also described as being able to teach one this.
